Individual

Individual therapy is a therapeutic approach that focuses on providing personalized support and guidance to an individual seeking assistance with their emotional, mental, or psychological well-being.

Individual therapy can address a wide range of concerns, including ADHD, ADD, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief and loss, trauma, self-esteem issues, and personal growth.

The primary goal of individual therapy is to help the person understand themselves better, improve their mental health, and develop effective coping mechanisms for dealing with challenges such as anxiety, depression, ect.  and achieving personal growth.

It offers a confidential space where individuals can freely express themselves, receive validation and support, and develop strategies to overcome challenges and improve their overall well-being.

Sports Psychology

Sports counseling recognizes the significant impact that psychological factors can have on an athlete's performance. It aims to address various psychological aspects such as motivation, confidence, focus, goal-setting, stress management, resilience, and teamwork. By understanding and addressing these factors, athletes can improve their mental readiness, optimize their performance, and effectively navigate the demands and pressures of their sport.

Sports counseling can be beneficial for various athletes, including those experiencing performance anxiety, struggling with confidence issues, facing burnout or mental fatigue, dealing with the pressures of competition, or seeking personal growth and development within their sport.

Adolescence (Ages 3-17)

Using art/sand tray/play therapy, Nick is able to communicate better with younger clients. Some clients are not able to communicate as adults can and express their feelings through art/play therapy.

Adolescence counseling addresses a wide range of concerns, including ADHD, ADD, anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, peer pressure, body image concerns, bullying, family conflicts,  self-destructive behaviors, and adjustment to life transitions.

The best thing for a child is routine and having an outlet. You will see results in confidence, emotional maturity and overall awareness with your child when seeing Nick regularly.

We do require a parent session before meeting with the client.

Please refer to Disclaimer 1 below.

Parental Counseling

Guiding parents of high-performing children through specialized counseling that addresses both their child’s unique strengths and the challenges that accompany them. High-achieving kids often struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, and the pressure to constantly excel, dynamics that can impact the entire family. Through counseling, parents gain practical tools to support their child’s emotional well-being, set healthy expectations, and encourage balance between achievement and personal growth. This process also helps parents manage their own stress while developing strategies for communication, structure, and connection, ultimately creating a supportive environment where their child can thrive with resilience and confidence.

Couples Counseling

We provide transformational couples therapy that goes beyond traditional “talk therapy.” Our structured, solution-focused, and results-driven approach supports military couples navigating deployment and reintegration, parents working to align their parenting styles and manage family stress, partners seeking to repair high-conflict patterns and communication breakdowns, couples healing and rebuilding trust after betrayal, and those striving to strengthen their bond during major life transitions.

Performance Coaching

Mental performance coaching helps people strengthen the mental skills needed to perform their best under pressure.
It focuses on building tools like focus, confidence, resilience, emotional regulation, and goal setting, using methods such as mindfulness, visualization, accountability, and performance simulations.
It’s for athletes, business leaders, performers, students, and anyone in high-stress roles.

The main objective of performance coaching is to empower the client to make positive changes in their life, enhance their skills, and overcome challenges. Unlike therapy, which often focuses on addressing past issues and emotional healing, coaching predominantly concentrates on the present and future, working towards setting and achieving specific goals.

Performance coaching is an out of pocket expense.

Disclaimer for Clients under 18 year of age: It’s important to clarify our approach when it comes to client readiness and engagement in the therapeutic process for clients under the age of 18 years old. If a client is consistently resisting or fighting to attend sessions, we view that as a strong indicator that they may not be ready or willing to engage meaningfully in treatment at this time.

In alignment with the ethical principle of do no harm, and my own belief in providing healthy, client-centered care, I do not support forcing someone into therapy. Doing so can not only be counterproductive, but may also damage the therapeutic relationship and hinder progress.

In such cases, we will refer the client to another provider who may be a better fit or who can revisit treatment at a more appropriate time. Our goal is to create a safe, intentional, and effective space for growth, and that only works when the client is ready and willing to participate in the process.

Disclaimer: I do not accept clients who require therapy for court-related issues. This includes individuals or adolescents seeking therapy as part of a legal requirement, such as court-ordered counseling or therapy related to ongoing legal proceedings. We do not provide services to adolescents who are involved in an open court custody case. Our policy strictly prohibits initiating services for any child until the custody case has been officially resolved. Proof of case resolution may be required prior to starting services. It is important to note that my practice focuses on providing therapeutic support for personal growth, mental health concerns, and general well-being. If you require assistance specifically related to legal matters, court cases, or other legal issues, I strongly recommend seeking the guidance of a qualified attorney or legal professional. If you have any questions or concerns about whether your needs align with the services I provide, please feel free to contact the office for further clarification.

Disclaimer: Leave Your Mark Counseling and Life Coaching is  not a crisis or emergency response center. In case of an emergency, please seek immediate assistance at a mental health emergency facility for prompt evaluation and treatment. Any assessments will be reviewed by the provider prior to the following session. Please contact us after your evaluation to be seen sooner prior to your scheduled appointment time.
